The Shock Collar: How It Works
A dog that misbehaves can be annoying, scary, or both to other people. If your dog is one of those pets that tend to make you unwelcome at places because it doesn’t obey your commands, you have to do something about it. You really don’t want to wait until your dog gets you in legal problems because of the way it behaves. To help train your dog, you should get a shock collar. Don’t worry, the shock collar is not harmful or painful to your dog. In fact, most shock collars that are sold in the market today only deliver minor jolts of static to your pet. The Invisible Fence If your dog is restless and can’t seem to stay in one place without being tied up, you might want to get an electronic fence as an alternative. How does the electronic dog fence work? The electronic fence prevents your dog from crossing certain boundaries. To activate the electronic fence, you bury a cable on the limits you want to set for your dog, make your dog wear the shock collar that comes with the system and then turn both of them on. If your dog tries to cross the limits you set for it, the shock collar will deliver a small static shock to the dog’s neck. The shocks will continue as long as your dog tries to cross the fence so your dog won’t be able to cross it. After your dog understands that it can’t go beyond certain limits and stays within the allocated area, you can remove the shock collar. The Bark Collar The back collar is one of the most popular shock collars sold in the market today. This type of collar has a sensor that detects the movement of your dog’s throat when it barks. Whenever your dog barks, the collar will detect it and correct the dog with a small charge or static electricity. The intensity of the discharge varies from shock collar to shock collar, and some might make your dog yelp when it receives the shock. If you hear your dog yelp, do not worry. Your dog is not in any danger of being electrocuted or forever traumatized with the jolt it gets from the collar. In addition, the jolt only lasts as long as the barking lasts. The Dog Training Collar The training shock collar is different from the other types of dog collars because you activate it manually. This collar comes with a remote device that you have to press to give a correction to your dog whenever it behaves badly.
